Maria  Sahakyan,  Artistic  Director/Conductor

The “Astghikner” Vocal Ensemble of St. Gregory the Illuminator Mission Parish of Brooklyn, New York, came into existence in October, 2015, under the direction of Maria Sahakyan. In a very short period of time, the young “stars,” aged four to sixteen, had their debut performance at St. Vartan Cathedral, followed by numerous performances in New York area churches, Old Age Homes and a performance in Philadelphia, Pa.. Most recently they appeared in the New York premier of Parsegh Ganachian’s opera, “The Monk.” Abp. Khajag Barsamian, Primate, has invited the ensemble to sing the hymns of the Easter Eve Divine Liturgy on Saturday, March 31, 2018  at  St.  Vartan  Cathedral
